- Notes on the Herb
- The now legendary St. John's wort has been shown in clinical trials
to be as effective as orthodox anti-depressants in the treatment of mild
to moderate depression. It is also useful in anxiety and sleep problems.
Traditionally the herb was used externally for healing wounds and
internallyas a liver tonic. It is anti-viral and can help in post-viral
fatigue syndrome, ME and shingles. The macerated oil is a superb skin
remedy - please see under macerated oils and creams. Suitable for
children.
